Lasting Powers of Attorney

Appoint trusted people to act for you

While a Will governs what happens on death, an LPA protects you during your lifetime, letting people you trust step in if illness or an accident means you cannot decide for yourself.

Two types of LPA

Property & Financial Affairs

Day-to-day money matters, bills, banking and property.

Health & Welfare

Medical treatment, care and living arrangements.

Each LPA is a separate document. We will explain the distinction and advise which arrangements are appropriate for you during our consultation.

Why put LPAs in place?

Without an LPA, even a spouse may not automatically be able to manage bank accounts, deal with property or make certain medical decisions. A Court of Protection application may be required instead, which can be time-consuming and costly.

Many clients arrange LPAs alongside their Wills so their affairs are aligned from the outset.
